Anita S. Lane is a freelance writer, columnist, and conference speaker who is passionate about empowering women, mothers and families. She is the founder and editor of Keeping Family First online family magazine. (http://keepingfamilyfirst.org).
A prolific writer, Anita is committed to pursuing her passion for encouraging other moms. “My heart goes out to every mom in America. We lead very busy, complex lives today. We need to encourage one another and every mom needs to know that she is not alone.”
In January of 2005, Anita launched Keeping Family First online magazine which serves as an online community of moms. Keeping Family First “expert” moms write on topics ranging from fitness, health, parenting, business, fashion, home organization, finance, and more. In September of 2005, Keeping Family First for Dads was launched with Randall Bonser serving as the KFF for Dads editor.

Prior to becoming a stay-at-home mom, Anita earned both a bachelors degree in political science and a masters degree in public policy from the University of Michigan. She worked for over ten years in the field of community development—managing and marketing programs, and procuring millions of dollars for family and youth-serving organizations in the city of Detroit.
In a warm, down-to-earth and often humorous fashion, Anita writes and speaks on the topic of motherhood, as well as societal and policy issues that affect today's families. She authors a column for moms at http://www.justformom.com, and is a regular contributor to Hope for Women Magazine. Her editorials on family and society have been published in The Detroit News and she is a contributing author in the August 2006 release, Chicken Soup for the African American Woman's Soul.
