This reference is fabulous! It kept me from calling the nurse three times a week! (After baby number one). Memorize your Pediatrician's number because with your first baby, everything is new. It's worth the call (or the trip) for your peace of mind. |

HE’S FINE… BUT IS HE SAVED? by Kimberley Brooks (www.KimontheWeb.com)
Awesome page-turner! You won't be able to put this novel down! Great reading for the winter months.....steamy. They say good things come to those who wait. It sounds good but when it comes to getting married wait can mean pain. In her acclaimed debut novel, He’s Fine…But is He Saved?, Kimberley Brooks delves into the lives and inner thoughts of every single woman. When it comes to love, how can you spot a fraud? Do single women need a man to lead a fulfilled life? When you delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desire of your heart, right? Sometimes this truth is easier said than done. Brooks depicts the trials and triumphs of 3 single friends in their search for perfect love. Each of them collectively and privately desire the man of their dreams, but can they withstand temptation on every level and run with patience and joy the race that is set before them?
In He’s Fine...But Is He Saved? Brooks reveals that single women should pursue purpose and wisdom before investing their emotions in skin-deep beauty. Chronicling the lives of 3 single friends each in very different places in their spiritual growth and maturity, Brooks tells a great story with heart wrenching honesty.

The Everything Get Published Book (Everything)
by Peter Rubie
This was the first book I purchased once I decided I was going to write a book. IT IS EXCELLENT! There is a lot that goes into writing and publishing and this book provides a great overview of all that is entailed. It was very easy to read and very, very helpful. There are many other books on each specific aspect of writing your book, writing proposals, promoting your book, etc., but this book gives you the gist of all of that. Another must-have in my opinion. |

Guerrilla Marketing for Writers : 100 Weapons to Help You Sell Your Work
by Jay Conrad Levinson, Rick Frishman, Michael Larsen
I was referred to this book by friend and first time author, Dana Davidson. It is a great book! Easy to read and has many practical, helpful tips. Read it before you submit your book proposal. It offers great promotional ideas that publishers will want to know you've thought of. When it comes to book promotion, this is also a must-have!

Eyes on the Prize: America's Civil Rights Years, 1954-1965 (African American History (Paperback))
by Juan Williams
Every American ought to view the Eyes on the Prize 6 part video series developed by Blackside, Inc. It is the most comprehensive documentary of the American Civil Rights Movement. It's hard to find for purchase. Rent it or borrow it from your library!

Boycott (2001)--Definitely one of the best movies on the civil rights movement. This movies chronicles the 1955 Montgomery, Alabama bus boycott with vivid detail. Jeffrey Wright is once again AWESOME in his portrayal of King and director Clark Johnson does a marvelous job with this film! It is unlike any other on the movement--totally engaging from start to finish. It will become one of your favorites as it is one of mine. Pick up the soundtrack too. It's excellent! |
