A Season for Growth
Welcome to the Summer 2008 issue of Keeping Family First online magazine. Whether it’s hot or cold (and it’s been both in Michigan within one seven-day span) it is in fact summer. If you have school age children, they are out of school and looking for ways to pass the time, while you’re looking for ways to keep them occupied.
Well you’ve come to the right place. In this issue of Keeping Family First we have a great Summer Survival Guide for Moms, as well as Tips for Keeping Kids Busy, and 7 Ways to Foster Growth this Summer for you and your children.
Before going back to school, we offer you a guide to easing the Summer-to-School transition.
Until then, we encourage our moms to invest time in caring for you and we discuss the transformative power of self-care. We also have a great batch of articles for Dads. Our KFF for Dads editor has a fascinating piece on what to do when Your Daughter Starts to Flirt. We explore Dads Going Green, as well as share a four step plan to developing a Growth Plan for Dad and the entire family.
Featured Guest
We have an exclusive one-one-one interview with Dr. Sampson Davis, one of the renown "Three Doctors" who authored "The Bond" and "The Pact." These three teenage boys grew up without fathers on the tough streets of Newark, New Jersey. In high school they made a pact that they would stick together, go to college, graduate and become doctors. They did. In our interview, Dr. Sampson Davis shares their remarkable story and their journey to forgive and reconnect with their fathers.
Make Time
This summer, amidst all of the busyness and all of the fun, take time to invest you and your family so that each member of the family can be enriched and experience well-roundedgrowth this summer—physically, spiritually and mentally.
Finally, be sure to check out all of this month's featured articles. KFF contributors have written fantastic articles to help us in our quest to be great in 2008!
