Shari R. Stephens

Shari Stephens is the owner of Skillset Solutions, a human resource development company in Auburn Hills, Michigan that specializes in professional development, small business and corporate training.    Shari is also a contract speaker who makes presentations statewide for the Monster, Inc., “Making High School Count”, “ Making College and Career Count”, “Making Your College Search Count” and  “Making Your Future Count for Girls” programs.

In addition to managing a thriving business and speaking to young adults, Shari is also a playwright, producer and director.  She has written over 12 full productions, many of which are musicals with original scores. Her work has also been seen at local festivals and toured through out the community with mobile stages.  Some of her memorable productions include The Oil Press, Who Do Men Say That I Am? and The Three King Trilogy: King Pagiel’s First Love, King Jehosaphel Trial and The Quest of Mocherdire.  In the summer of 2002, She branched out into dinner theater, featuring her first mystery, “Just Who Knew Poor, Old, Mr. Connelly?”

Cath WrayCathy Wray

Cathy L. Wray has served in various areas of ministry for nearly 20 years.   Cathy has ministered to hundreds of women at various womens’ conferences and seminars.  Cathy had the distinct privilege of authoring four chapters in the highly celebrated book, “25 Ways Moms Can Raise Extraordinary Kids” authored by Stacia Pierce in 1999, and has been a featured guest on “The Joys of Oneness” television broadcast that reaches more than 4.3 billion viewers nationwide.

Lydia BestLydia Reasonover Best

Lydia Reasonover Best is a native Detroiter and Family physician.  She learned of the sacrifice Jesus made for all of us at age 13 and accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at Word of Faith International Christian Center, Pastor Keith A. Butler, and is an active member to this day serving in the 24-hour prayer center. 

Dr. Best attended Detroit Public Schools , Brown University , the University of Michigan Medical School and then completed her residency at the University of Maryland .  At the call of God, she left a lucrative position at a large hospital system and is now blessed to serve as Medical Director of a Christ-centered medical clinic for working without health insurance. Her husband of 9 years and her 3 children fully support her decision and have felt the blessings of God because of it.

Lydia enjoys reading, dancing, teaching gymnastics, and recently completed writing a children’s book. She and her family reside in Detroit, Michigan.

Min. Mary  EdwardsMinister Mary Edwards

Minister Mary Edwards is best known for her community revitalization work alongside of her late husband Rev. Eddie K. Edwards. Together they founded the Joy of Jesus Ministries, which is located on the eastside of Detroit near City Airport. This work earned them the 107th Point of Light Award from former President George Bush, Sr. in 1984.

Minister Edwards was the founding director of Camden House, the family life center of the ministry. As a result of this successful outreach, she was chosen to serve as a consultant to the advisory team in our nation’s capital commissioned to study the “Root Cause of Substance Abuse.”

In 1996, Minister Edwards retired from Joy of Jesus and began new initiatives. These include:

His Lovely Wife Ministries, a support group for women in spiritual leadership.

The Called and Ready Writers, a Christian writers guild presently consisting of over 55 active writers.

Widows With Wisdom, her latest ministry, established to help widows make the adjustment to living alone following the loss of their spouses. Her radio show can be heard every Friday night over Radio Station WLQV (1500 AM).

In addition to these ministries, Minister Edwards has authored six books and is currently working on her autobiography. Her most cherished book is titled, “Ponderings From the Heart of Mary.” Her late husband, Rev. Eddie K. Edwards, painted the cover. A significant testimony from her autobiography appears in the very first “Chicken Soup for the African American Soul" book released on September 16, 2004.

Angelita S. Jacobs

Angelita S. Regina Rodgers has over 15 years in the human services field.  She has been a supervisor, administrator, counselor, and project coordinator at various mental health and child welfare agencies.  Through her years in human services she has immensely enjoyed working with children and families to help strengthen the family unit.

Casey CurryAuthor Casey Curry holds a degree in philosophy and religion and a minor in fine arts.  She is married to a career military officer and is the mother of four beautiful daughters, ranging in age from 10 to 17. 

Curry is the author and illustrator of the ground breaking children’s interactive grief book, I Remember You Today, written after the death of her youngest daughter. Her three year old Tori Rose died March 11, 1999 and is now ageless.

Her love for children and children's interest spans decades. Casey is the founder of the Mother Daughter Book Club of Hampton Roads in Virginia Beach, Virginia.  As an elementary school art teacher, Casey developed an art history based curriculum at the Naval Academy Primary School in Maryland.
