| Favorite "New" Restaurant |
Seldom Blues--A great new restaurant in the GM Headquarters in Downtown Detroit (2004). Great food, live jazz, Great views of the Detroit River and excellent service. If you like seafood, be sure to get the crab cake appetizer--it's delicious! The salmon and the lamb chops are both fabulous too. So far everything I've known folks to have is good.
A primarily minority-owned restaurant, the owners include Frank Taylor (co-owner of Sweet Georgia Brown), jazz musician Alexander Zonjic, Detroit Lion's Robert Porcher and Jerry Nottage (former chef of Sweet Georgia Brown).

Northern Lakes Seafood Company--Exquisite seafood dining experience.
Iridescence--Good food and attentive service. Cozy, intimate atmosphere. The only draw back-- you have to walk through the casino and all the cigarette smoke to get to the restaurant.
Harlequin Cafe--Cozy, personal service. Good food. Pricey but memorable.

Logan's Roadhouse--The steaks are excellent. (The ribeye medium-well is my favorite). The peanut buckets are fun and you can't beat the hot sour dough rolls and salad that precede the meal. Then there's also the sweet potato with butter, brown sugar and cinnamon. Watch out! Save room for the main course! |

TVOne--I remember TV One's debut on MLK day in 2003. I just happened upon it. It's been my favorite ever since. Move over BET, this station more accurately represents Black America--especially the more mature Black audience. I love B. Smith's lifestyle show, G. Garvin's cooking show and Donna Richardson's morning workouts. Look for TV One or request it. You may like it! |

I get a weekly "your child this week" update with pictures--while I'm pregnant, and monthly developmental updates on the toddlers. It's insightful and useful. |
