Weight Loss Success Story!

Amy Rose
Monterey, California

Amy Rose lost 40 pounds in 8 months.  How did she do it? Here’s Amy in her own words:

Exercise Regimen
45-minute cardio sessions, 4-5 times a week. Alternating weight training sessions 3 times a week.

Diet
Diet shake for breakfast. Lean Cuisine frozen meal for lunch.  Fruit and Oatmeal granola bars for a snack. Healthy dinner involving a salad, lean protein and minimal carbohydrates.

Biggest Struggles
I used to eat enormous amounts of food at a time, so I struggled with limiting myself and stopping my food intake when I was "full" and not when my food was gone.  I also struggled with motivation, until I found a dedicated workout partner to teach me how to work out and to keep me going.

How She Overcame Them
My workout partner helped me stay motivated by encouraging me and not letting me give up.  I stopped buying foods I knew would be fattening and stocked up on healthy foods to keep temptation away.  I also substituted high calorie foods with lower calorie options. For example, instead of eating chocolate cake, I bought sugar free chocolate pudding.

Amy’s Words of Encouragement
Don't give up, even if you have to "start over" 100 times! Keep a log of photos to keep yourself motivated and find a friend to do it with you!  I could never have done this alone!  Be proud of the progress you've made, and continue to look to the future!  You can make it!

Amy’s Last Words
I feel like a totally different person and I’m going to continue toward my goal of 145 pounds!
