Summer 2008
Weight Loss Success Story!

Lou Velandia, 26
Oneonta, New York

Lou Velandia lost 85  pounds in 6 months. How did he do it? Here’s Lou in his own words:

Exercise regimen
Cardio and weight training

Diet
I reduced carbs, fats and sugars and ate a diet of 1,500 calories a day.

Biggest Struggle
Finding time to exercise...and being picky at restaurants and dinner invitations.  Sometimes I was also forced sometimes to settle with whatever food, due to not having healthy choices in my kitchen at certain moments.

How He Overcame Them
By being brave saying no working out hard, and not gooing over my 1500 calories a day.

Lou’s Words of encouragement
I have 3 words for everyone:
1.DECIDE
2.COMMIT
3.SUCCEED

IT'S ALL ABOUT WILL POWER, FOLKS.  Also have a goal..more than for yourself.  Have someone or something else that you want to do this for...family, a job, a boy/girl you like…some sort of inspiration.  That may be stronger than the desire for that piece of pizza or delicious ice cream.

And dont think of this as dieting.  Think of it as eating and being healthier.  Don’t think of it as a diet because diets mean a starting point and a finish.  Change your life.  Be healthier.  Think of it as being a better, fitter, human being.  You don’t want to be fit and healthy only until you reach the weight you wanted...keep it!!! change your living , exercising and eating habits.  Be a machine.  Fall in love with the idea of being the ultimate fitter human being…and trust me, it will pay off.  It feels great.  It's worth it.  I’M LIVING PROOF OF THAT!
